#9983: Unable to rename S3 files larger than 5 GB

I can upload large files just fine but if I try to rename them I get the
 following error:

"The specified copy source is larger than the maximum allowable size for a
copy source: 5368709120. Please contact your web hosting service provider
 for assistance."

I know that S3 can't actually rename files and forces you to copy and
delete them behind the scenes but surely there must be a way of moving or
renaming a large file after upload? It would be bizarre if that were not
 possible.
