 Upon first launching, any typing in the Quick connect box results in
 freeze-up.  I've seen a couple of similar bugs in trac but they were
 listed as fixed, so maybe this is a new problem.  I'm running the latest
 version, 2.8b1 (3212)

 I am running 10.4.10 on an Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 MacBook Pro with 4 GB of
 RAM.
