 wow thanks, I'll give them a go.  at first I tried just dropping the 1.50
 VM for Java from Leopard into the Snow Leopard Java frameworks folder and
 rebooted but still Cyberduck bounced and then stopped.  My final solution
 (believe it or not, I was that desperate) was to install Leopard Server
 into a VM and run Cyberduck off that through VMware Fusion!!
 I think these nightly builds (although missing tiny pieces of
 functionality) are a much better option so thanks again dkocher!
