Comment:

 Editor support is not limited to text editor. Just make sure that
 Pixelmator is your default editor for images and that the checkbox
 'Preferences → Editor → Always use default editor' is not checked. Then
 you see the Pixelmator (edit) icon on your toolbar. Currently it only
 works via Edit button though.
