 Hi dkocher,

 Thanks for these suggestions. Yes, I had tried to remove the application
 support directory but that didn't help. Opening Cyberduck in another user
 account works. I've tried to repair disk permissions and boot into safe
 mode (which allegedly performs some system maintenance works) but
 Cyberduck still won't find any servers (not even the default ones show up
 upon program start).
