To Whom It May Concern,
Hello. First I want to thank you for making such a great product! I've
been using Cyberduck for a few years now and I've never had any major
problems. Even now, I'm not having a major problem, but I am concerned
because of the alert messages I'm receiving. I've generally kept up to
date with the latest Cyberduck releases and I've been running 4.4.3
(14140) before the problem started occurring. Although I can't be sure the
problem didn't start when I updated to the latest version.
My issue is, lately (about the past couple months) whenever logging into
any of my FTP accounts in Cyberduck I get this alert message:
"Cyberduck wants to use your confidential information stored in '...' in
your keychain."
Below that it says: "Do you want to allow access to this item?"
Then my options are: Always Allow, Deny, Allow
I've always just been choosing "Allow", but I don't think that's a good
idea and I'd like to clear up this issue.
I've looked up this issue on your website and found these tickets from 5
years ago:
https://trac.cyberduck.io/ticket/3336
https://trac.cyberduck.io/ticket/2878
However, following the history of this issue, it keeps getting resolved
with a newer version, but then it always seems to become an issue again.
The last note on ticket 2878 is:
"Summary changed from Password in non-default keychain are copied to
default one to Password in non-default keychain are copied to login
keychain"
Please forgive my ignorance, but I don't know if this is a fix I should
apply somehow or if it is a note intended for the programer or something
else.
For the past few years since I've been using Cyberduck with the same FTP
accounts, this has never been a problem for me. My only guess is that all
of my accounts are FTP accounts and not SFTP. Although that may apply more
to the other issue I'm having, the "Unsecured FTP connection" alert
message, but I'll make a separate ticket for that issue. Though both of
these issues started at the same time.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Kevin
