 I wanted Cyberduck to start Excel-files in Excel, not in Notepad, when I
 found the true problem:

 Settings > Transfers > General > "Open downloaded files with default
 application" would be the correct setting.

 However...
 "Heruntergeladene Daten automatisch öffnen"
 ...would translate back to...
 "Open downloaded files automatically"
 ...which was not the setting I was looking for.

 Better translation for...
 "Open downloaded files with default application"
 ...would be...
 "Heruntergeladene Daten mit dem Standardprogramm öffnen"

 "Standardprogramm" is the German Windows-term for "default application".
