 I am new to cyberduck, so it may be my expectations are at fault rather
 than code, but this what I am experiencing with Cyberduck in Windows 8.1
 connecting to S3 buckets:

 Select a bucket in cyberduck, right-click, choose Synchronise...
 Create a new folder in My Documents, click OK
 Choose "mirror" and then "continue"
 files from bucket are copied to new local folder
 If I edit a file locally, it get syched to S3

 ** problems start here:
 If I create a new file locally it does NOT get pushed to S3 until I
 refresh from the transfers page
 If I create a new file on S3, it does not get downloaded until I manually
 refresh the transfer.
 Deleting a local file does not delete the file on S3, even after a manual
 refresh.

 I have set Transfers / Timestamps to "preserve modification date" for both
 uploads and downloads.

 Please let me know if I am simply missing instructions or if this is the
 expected behavior.
