 As described in
 https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/cyberduck/QiWQ6LeER2I:

 The function to create symbolic links is great. But when moving a symbolic
 links to other locations than the target item's folder, it doesn't update
 the (relative/absolute?) link target. It would be great if this could be
 fixed or if there would be a possibility to create symbolic outside their
 target's folder.
