New description:

 I am evaluating CyberDuck for use with iRODS.

 I can connect via PAM to iRODS and generally use it, except on a folder
 structure that
 has folders that each have a large access control list.

 When I try to open that folder, it gives:
 "Listing directory projects failed".   Depending on how I try to do the
 listing, I can end up in a seemingly endless
 Error display loop.  Cancel just gives another error.
