Just thinking outloud here, I dont know if this is posable, or practice to
implement, but here it goes:
I would be nice to see a True SSH connection support for Cyberduck. It
would allow cyberduck to issue commands just like in terminal. This could
include deleting of entire subdirectories in a split second.
I can also see a possibility of a real command prompt being available. So
terminal commands are issued when a user action is performed in the GUI
and vice versa; a UI action is generated when a command is given in the
"terminal". Like changing the directory view when "cd" is typed.
As a web developer, Im often split between the decision of opening up
terminal vs cyberduck. I have to think to myself about what kind of
limitations cyberduck has, and if what I'm doing is best suited to a drag
and drop gui, if I am doing something that goes beyond the limitations or
is cumbersome in cyberduck.
I love to use a gui like cyberduck for moving a few files around, or
checking on backup files. Most other tasks I tend to favour in terminal.
It would really make my day, if I could always open cyperduck, and know i
can delete a large subdirectory in a split second through a gui, but could
also "cd .." through directories and then compile some software and then
move a bunch of files between servers with a drag and drop...
Anyhow, I guess I'm combining several feature requests here.
1. Connect directly to SSH in order to eliminate limitations os SFTP.
2. Provide a command prompt that the GUI responds to.
3. Provide integrated functionality of the duck CLI
Thanks for listening.
