 Why? Remove it somewhere and leave it somewhere, that's confusing and
 limiting options.

 In our case we are limiting the folders to which a user can access inside
 a S3 bucket. Therefor the user has to specify an initial path otherwise
 they will get an error. I know this may sound like a edge case but I'm
 sure we are not the only one who will need this option.
