 Enable bookmark creation for removable media that allows for
 retention/sync of folders in removable media (hard drives, flash drives,
 etc.)

 Use Case: A laptop with large external HDD.  If bookmarked but
 disconnected, treat the external HDD as a disconnected network drive.
 Allow for writes (reads of data if enabled).  On connection, sync file
 tree.  Use the icon for the removable drive (if present) for the MD drive
 icon.  This ensures that data can be pushed to the drive (very simple
 archive system).

 Also on connection, remove the MD drive icon, but keep it mounted,
 invisible, and sync in the background.

 For the files I am looking to use, I basically need them referencable (but
 not necessarily present) when my external drive is not connected.  I also
 need to use a local drive due to throughput - my external drive speed is
 roughly comparable to the internal drive speed, which is far slower than
 network, and some of the files involved are upwards of 128Gb each.
