#11783: Mountain Duck last modified date retention S3
----------------------------+--------------------------------
Reporter: wanderer | Owner:
Type: enhancement | Status: new
Priority: normal | Milestone:
Component: core | Version: 7.10.2
Severity: normal | Keywords: last modified date
Architecture: Intel | Platform: Windows 10
----------------------------+--------------------------------
Can Mountain Duck sync files and folders from a local drive with an S3
bucket? Does Mountain Duck store the last modified date as metadata for
each file? And if the files are restored or downloaded to a local drive
from the S3, and these files have been uploaded and downloaded through
Mountain Duck, are the modified dates written back on the local drive as
appropriate? Or would the last modified dates now be the upload/created
date on the S3 server - rendering two seemingly identical files different?
There are many APIs that write metadata for S3 objects to ensure this can
take place as you lose an important part of file organization if the last
modified date is erased completely in an upload. Does Mountain Duck have a
way to preserve this information?
