 Further testing suggests that it's the sync process that causes the issue
 and it could be related to issue #11676, as in 7.9.0 it appears to take
 much longer to perform each operation of the sync and that could be what
 results in the "connection failed" and "interoperability error" issues.
 Attempting an upload after that has occurred is then likely also erroring
 due to the previous failure on the connection to the server.
