 I was experiencing this problem a few days ago.  It might have been caused
 by slow responses on my network connection.  By using the standard Unix
 FTP command I was able to transfer files OK.  Is there a difference in the
 timeout settings?  Should there be a user definable preference for setting
 timeouts in CD?  Using version 2.5.4 on Mac OS 10.3.9.
